Howdy All -
Same phone system I've posted about the last several months, and I'm having more trouble with.
Backround: Fall 2008 - Lots of static on incoming/outgoing phone calls, many times could not hear the other party. AT&T tested lines clear, changed line card in phone system. Seemed to fix this issue. Also bought a nano-second surge protector as suggested by somebody here. Didn't really solve the problem.
December 2008 - lots of static on individual extensions, not evident to the outside caller, station card replaced. Had some relief until....
Last Week - lots and lots of static all around, internal on intercom channels, when on trunk calls, and mid conversation the system is crossing conversations, somebody talking on Line 1 at ext 201 might hear an intercom call between ext 203 and 205.
I now have a recommendation to replace the processor. This system is barely 4 years old. It doesn't seem like I should be having these types of problems. I am not sure I want throw another $1,000 to try and fix this but at the same time, this system has not even depreciated itself off of fixed assets and it seems very bad to be asking to replace a 4 year old phone system.
I realize the info here is not to technical and hardly diagnostic in nature but at a high level what are your thoughts and as professionals dealing with this equipment, what would your recommendation be, or further trouble shooting steps?

Is your equipment covered under a warranty? Hopefully you have had your Toshiba dealer involved in all of this. Maybe they have a spare processor and possibly a spare cabinet just to do some testing with. Also make sure the system is properly grounded.

If the static is on Internal calls as well as external, I would have to agree with swapping the processor.
You may try backing up the current one, and re initialize it, then reload data base. Cant hurt.
Has your vendor looked at this?
Also you could get a new cabinet and processor off ebay, better price

Did you try reseating all the cards in the CTX? Power recycle? It could also be the cabinet and not the processor.
