I think your best bet would be to do a search on the WEB for antique pay phones and contact some of them. Or maybe antique phone collectors. Someone on the board may surprise me though, wouldn't be the first time, there is a vast amount of knowledge here.

You'll need to know the manufacturer (WECO, AE, Northern etc.)

A google search would definitely do it, but there are a couple of antiques phone buffs on the site. Give them a chance to find this posting and maybe they can help.

the reciever says WE, but its not the original reciever. i have the original one, but the name is worn off of it. dont see any other names anywhere. came with unopened bags of Bell System screws, 6 info plates for the newer version phones with one coin slot, 2 extra dials, and a few other parts.

ATCA

I am member # 1783. There are many members who are conversant with the history, wiring, restoration, and use of those antique coin sets on modern POTS lines.

In fact, there is one fellow who has invented a small circuit board that emulates the coin-collect and coin-return signals.

Membership is inexpensive, and will give you access to many resources, including local meets, fellowship, and an email forum service where you can get answers to all your questions.

ONE MORE quik question. i am going to have to repaint this pay phone (black). is there a certain kind of paint i should use, or will just any paint do? thanks again for all your help. i also just picked up a 1920-30's AE wall phone in really nice shape, but i will be selling that to pay for the payphone restoration, so i wont be bugging you with questions about that one! hehehe thanks again!

I belong to a Yahoo Group for the ATCA, and they recently helped me to get some parts for old antique phones and also to help a customer of mine do something similar to what you are trying to do. You might find this group very willing, helpful and informative to you. Here is how you can reach and/or join that group.

To send a message, send an email to [email protected] ATCA website is located at https://atcaonline.com

Hope that helps.
