Hi all, Has anyone out there successfully connected a CIX/MIPU to a MItel 3300? I've been told that you can't do that (and that bugs me). :>) Faded memory makes me think I saw someone on this board that did it (no details). Anyone done it to any other PBX?
TIA!

Toshiba SIP trunking was never designed to be used to tie 2 systems, but rather it was designed to be used as a trunk.
That being said, I saw someone recently post about connecting 2 systems together using SIP trunks. Not sure if they posted details and I don't remember what the other system was. Maybe a search of this board will turn up something.

I am going through a similar search for answers right now. We have a customer that wants to connect their CIX to a Samsung via SIP Peering mode. Toshiba tech support said they will not support the connection to another system. They didn't say it would or would not work, but from the info p2ii gave me - it should be feasible. From what I've read it sounds like a Tie E&M over the public internet... but I am still operating on theory without any practical experience.
I will keep you updated as I read and learn more!

Actually Toshiba is working on Inter operation with other pbx systems through sip trunking. first line of toshibas inter-operation guide "Sip Trunking can be used to pass calls directly between a Strata Cix system and other vendors IP pbx systems" Canuckvoip & MacOSX if you go to the beta site there is an inter operation guide to connect to a Cisco uc520,It may have some useful info, they are working on inter operation with other pbx systems as well...

Thanks telecom1, Thanks for the validation. I thought so but I don't think our Canadian website has that beta info. Will investigate further...

[/b]Thanks, I have the IB-0004 sheet already and have read through it. I agree that it should already be possible to do this with any other system that has SIP capability - the hardware, software and protocols are already there. I was merely informing others that I took the tech support route and Toshiba will not officially support it, although I am am sure it can be done... now it's dealing with the devil of the details. Canuckvoip : e-mail sent.

OK you guys seem to be on the bleeding edge of this. I posted in the Mitel forum about doing this between a Mitel 5000 and a several Cisco Call Manager systems. I know very little of the Cisco systems. From what I am reading here, it seems that SIP Trunk to trunk connecting of systems is on the horizon, but not "Officially" sanctioned. Is that pretty much it?
