I'v got a customer that has a CTX100 and a bogen paging amp. We did not put the system in and vendor split town. The problem is the phone page is not clear and does not cut off the music when you do a #30. I tested the output from the KSU, it's reading 58ohms, I thought it s/b 600? do I need a converter? something missing? help

Does the system have a BIOU? It should read 600ohm out. If not, it is defective. If it is not cutting the music, it is not wired properly.

The paging port is off the main cpu card, It's a RCA fitting.

I Seen where the RCA Jack on the CPU the solder joint broke. The output is 600ohm. In this case we replace the Paging with A DKT-PI which uses a digital port acts like a digital phone. Program a BGM key on one of the buttons, Press the BMG Button on the unit.
You might want to try a Bogen wmt1a 600ohm line matching transformer, The muting of the BGM is either done by the amp or the relay contacts on the proccessor.

Like he said, in most cases the music mute is done by the amp, unless the music is going through the phone system. It may also depend on how the amp is wired as some inputes do not mute the music. In some cases I sconnected the paging port to the RCA inport of the bogen amp, then used a pair of wires from the phone system to be used a a music mute relay contact to force the music to mute.
I also think the the 600 ohn line matching transformer is a good idea. I have had some troubles with sound quality when wiring it the way many installers do, by cutting off one end of the RCA cable an wiring it ot the Tip/Ring of the amp. They make fun of me at my work when I talk about Impedence mismath and the difference between ballanced and unballanced circuits.

Thanks for the input. I used a 600ohm matching transformer and it seems to work now, just not as clear as I would like, but that may just be the system.
