We have a Cisco VOIP system connected to a Toshiba CIX670 and use SIP trunking over our p2p t1 lines between buildings for 4 digit dial.

The caller id from the Toshiba phones do not pass to the Cisco Phones. The number that does display is what is listed as "Main" in the SIP URI Table.

The caller id acts like dialing out through a PRI and only showing the main number. However it is not using what is set in the Calling Number under Trunks.

Any one know if this is possible to carry over the caller id?

Have you read this? {Edited}
It's definitely a good guideline.

Any reason for the edit? I was looking forward to learning more about interaction between systems via SIP.

I have seen that bulletin along with another one that was similar. Reading through it mentions using a main calling number.

I figured there would be a way to at least show an extension number of the person that is calling to another system over the SIP.

It would be nice if this could happen, even if there was some extra equipment that may be needed.
