Cant seem to figure out just how to set up a button to transfer an outside caller directly to a particular voicemail box on a DK40i and a Strategy voicemail. Don't see it in the book but there's gotta be a way to do that.... --Thanks--

One way is to program a DSS button of a standard station extention. Forward that SS extention all calls to voicemall. If you are using analog intergration in your call forward field use voice mailbox 998. I hope that this makes sense. Mailbox 998 is the enter the user ID number.

I saw a trick someone else used for a system; All the phones were 10 button but a phantom was programmed on FB 11, SO I assum the original programmer walked around with a 20 buttton phone.
On each phone there was a phantom, which was something like 7 + their extetion, so extension 211 would have a phantom of 7211.
The #656 and #657 codes for the phantom were set to the DN, ie 211.
The phantoms on each phone were set to Call Forward all to voicemail.
When the operator wanted to send a caller to voicemail, they would dial 7 + the extension.
This was an office of about 15 phones. I can't imagine doing this for a large install.
Other then that, the DK doesn't have VM transfer like the Strata CTX/CIX.
Older VM systems used 8 for VM direct message, same as 998. In some cases I have seen 8 transer to 998 with @G(998) in extension for a shortcut. The operator would still have to transfer the call to the voicemail, wait for it to answer, dial 8 #, then the extension number and hangup.
Next time I come across a DK system I wil try the above sugestion.

A similar way to Phoneguywayne's method:
Copy mbx 998 to 8. Ext field to be blank. In the VM config, change the Direct VM from 998 to 8. (This serves to reduce the vm transfer keystrokes by 2) Create a speed dial button that stores "cnf/trn+vm pilot dn" and label as "VM Transfer" Operator then pushes "VM Transfer", then when VM answers, push 8 + dest mbx, or if SMDI integrated, it would be #+8 + dest mbx.

What I have always done is to make a single digit ext, I use 5 that is a PHDN CFA to voice mail and pointed to box 998.
So the user just transfers to 5, then voice mail asks for the destination ID. Works slick.
