I have a few CIX1200 systems with both digital and Analog ports.
I have connected a large number of fax machine to analog ports with DID numbers assigned to them.
It seems some machines have problem faxing out. Most of the problems are with 800 numbers which I believe are connected to fax servers.
I have good dial tone on these analog ports. If I put my butt set on the analog port, I can dial the numbers and hear their fax/modem tone.
It seems my machine and the calling party's machine to not shake hands.
I had my fax machine vendor check the equipment and it checks out fine. My vendor says it’s the phone line.
Anyone else have issues like this? Any ideas what it could be?
BTW - This started when I moved my Centrex lines pots lines over to PRIs and connected the machine to my CIX systems.

Have you tried swapping the ports on a machine that works and one that doesn't? Even if your vendor says the equipment is fine, doesn't hurt to see if the problem stays with the port or goes with the machine.

I did not.. I am not familiar with that. What should it be set to? How would this cause a problem?

In prog 105 FB21, should be XXYY01 where XX and YY is the cabinet number and slot number of the xPTU card. eg. 010701 would be cabinet 1 slot 7. Push the reset button for a few seconds on the PRI card for good measure.

Phonemeister is 100% correct without a clocking source the O/G faxes will fail after a page or 2 and disconnect. The TS or FS light(bottom led) should flash on the PRI card to indicate the syncing with the exchange.

primary clock source is set in the system. The problem only happens with outgoing faxing. Mostly to 800 numbers or faxes going to a fax server instead of a fax machine. It seems the two don't hand shack.

Try adjusting the transmit baud rate on the fax machine to 9600 and turn off error correction if it has it.

Is it a VOX IP Circuit? Fax machines don't like It when the voice rides on a data PRI.
