I have a Toshiba CTX670 with a Stratagy Voice Brick (Flash) attached. The VoiceBrick as stopped responding. I've tried everything to recycle it. I've unplugged it with and without the data lines conencted, I've tried to access it via R3Admin / Hyperterminal and still no go. I had a service rep come out today to tell me the same thing I already new, that the VoiceBrick needs to be replaced or repaired.
My questions are:
1) Is it possible that it's just the Compat Flash Card that died> 2) If I were to purchase a used unit, can I insert the Flash Card (if it still works) and everything will be like it was? 3) Is there anything else I can try to get this thing up and running?
Thanks for any help!

1. Very likely that the flash card is toast if the lights on the units still come on. 2. Not if number 1 is true. 3. The only two options you've already touched on, repair or replace.

Can I purchase I new Flash Card? If so, do I need to reload some software of some sorts?

So, I took out the flash card and inserted it into a card reader. It's full. It's a 48MB file. Is there a way delete the old .VOX files. Will this actually work?

So it turns out that the Flash Card is fine. The VoiceBrick is fine. I cleared out the .LOG files that were 15mb and tried to boot system again and everything works.
Thanks for your replies.

1. Upgrade your software which will allow you to enter Admin programming even if card is full. 2. Have the users delete their old messages to free up space. 3. Back up your data in case the card fails.

check mailbox 0 as this is the usual culprit as it fills up and then the Stratagy Flash will fail to run. Deleting the log file is the only way of getting it running again and then log in and check which mailboxes are full of messages and delete them.
The flash cards rarely fail it is usually an space issue.

You can change out the compact flash to a 512MB and have 144 hrs of storage.
