I have a DK40i serving 8 phones on three CO lines. The DK40i has no expansion cabinets and has only TCOU1A, KSTU2A, K5RCU2A cards.

A door security company added an electric gate with phone control to our site, and rather than configuring the DoorKing 1812 to use Intercom Mode and plug it into CO line 4 on the DK40i, they instead added their circuit to CO line 2. This causes problems when visitors arrive and CO line 2 is in use. Since I have the free CO line (#4 is unused) and the DoorKing will support the intercom mode (it powers the loop, rather than expecting the CO to provide dial tone), I intend to change the setup so that the door circuit is on CO line 4. However, in testing the feasibility of this approach, I note that CO Line 4 rings on only 1 of 3 phones in the office and I'd like it to ring on all three.

I have the DK40i programming manual, and I'm adventurous. Can anyone point me to the program(s) used to make CO lines show up on some phones but not others?

It seems that I need to run program 39 (Flexible Button Assignments) for the phones where CO line 4 does not appear, using code 435 for "Call Pickup Tenant 4" to assign CO line 4 to an unused flexible button. Will that make CO line 4 ring on the phones in question?

If so, the challenge is to identify the port number of the phones that need to have the code 435 assigned to a flexible button. Only one of my phones is an LCD phone, so I'll have to all my programming from it. How does one identify the port number in use by a non-LCD phone?

Then again, maybe I need Programs 81~89 for Ground/Loop Start/CO Line Station Ringing.

This book is confusing...

remember that you program to port numbers rather than extension numbers
program 04 is port number to extn number
program 39 is the key programming to port number
program 81-89 is day1,day2 and night ringing assignments with immediate, delay1 and delay2 options.
program 40 is for allowing access to the lines
program 41 is to restrict outgoing access to the lines by pressing the line keys

there are other programs but they are the ones to start with

1- I would add co card to system to get door box its own dedicated port
2- tenant 4 is the 4th company on the system ,not
the 4th line.
3- common sense would be to take display set
to locations with without to find port
numbers or trace cables @ system to ports.
4- Call a local Toshiba tech to get you
going and give you some insight into system
then you can putz around with it when you have
working knowledge ,Toshiba programming isnt easy.

A friendly member PMed me with what I needed:
1) use INT #402 on an LCD phone plugged in a the desks in question to show the Port number at that desk.
2) Use program 39 to add CO line 4 to specific buttons on the ports identified in #1

I got all my stuff to work with the board's help:
- I moved my DoorKing to the unused CO Line 4 input on the DK40i
- I added CO Line 4 to the 3 Ports of the folks who need to answer the door
- I have CO Line 2 acting as phone only

All is good, thanks to the fine folks on the board...and a little reading of the relevant Toshiba and DoorKing manuals.
