We have IVP8. We have many problems.
We have been told that IVP8 is not the best Voicemail choice for our CIX-100.
We were told that Perfect Voice Octet would be a good choice.
We do not have it now, but we will also need an ACD in the near future.
We were further told Octet is even better than using the Voicemail in the MAS.
Any feedback appreciated.

Let me guess....You were told that by an Octet dealer, not a Toshiba technician.
I think almost any Technician will tell you to stay with a voice mail that is made for the phone system. The MAS is the best platform for your needs if you are adding ACD in the near future.
ACD is supported on the MAS. Spend the money now and just add the licenses later. It makes no sense to put in a 3rd party voice mail, then have to switch it out for a MAS when you are ready for ACD.

My knee jerk reaction is also to say that a Toshiba voicemail is best with a Toshiba system. I have never heard of the Perfect Voice Octet before so I went online to check it out. Hard to really tell how it operates from a data sheet, but it looks intriguing, and interesting that it was made specifically for the CIX. I have seen a few systems with 3rd party voicemail systems, but not very often do I see the 3rd party system made specifically for one system.
With it's features, it would be closer to the iES16 voicemail system. One thing that the iES has over this one, as far as I can tell, is the iES16 can be a fax server.
As the my screen name implies, I haven't been a tech as long as many on this board, probabaly about 6 years with Toshiba, with some limited experience with other systems. I think the Stratagy has it issues, and lacks some feature I wish they would add. Over the various software releases I don't see them adding a lot of new features, which is probabaly to keep the core system as stable as possible. Personnal I am growing to like the new voicemail system, the Strata Messaging better then the Stratagy voicemail systems.
"Best" voicemail is pretty opinionated. It will depand on a lot of factors. Does one system have features you want or need that the other does not have. Who will service it down the road. Does it work with you system (I read that the ingegration on the Perfect voice needs ver 4.2 which will require a newer processor).
As far as Toshiba voicemails: Basic systems; IVP8- LVMU- replaced the IVP8.
Includes Unified messaging and Faxing; Strata Messaging- Latest voicemail running on Linux. IES-16 MAS- can include ACD and Taske repoting system.
If you are going to ACD later, then the MAS may seem to win out, but you add up the costs and compare features, you could decide 2 seperate systems will work fine for you.
