I have a customer who currently has an RRCU in full working order, however it works so good now they need more equipment 5200 feet in the earth. Single mode fiber is all they are going to run down there. I see a product from startech. c o m that is a media converter from multimode to single mode. Any reason why I wont be able to do this? 1 at each end of course, I read something about wavelengt being lik 800nm and 1300nm? what is the rrcu outburts? Any help before i go 1 mile deep in the earth would be a GREAT help.

A media converter will work. You are still limited to the same overall distance as you would if it was multimode.
