Hi All,

My client has a CTX 100 and a need for an external loud ringer for the manufacturing floor. What card and equipment would be best for this application?

I dont want it to go thru the existing paging system, it goes all over the building, this is just for the bays. The existing paging amp is a Bogen TPU100.

The ACTU card has only one page and one MOH jack.

What I'm looking for is an electronic bell to interface into the CTX100. What would be the best equipment and what card do I need.

Thank you in advance.

Does the manufacturing floor have a digital extension phone or a analogue?

If it has a analogue extension you should be able to attach a mains powered tone ringer in parallel.

If it has a digital extension one way to get a tone ringer is to check the system for a spare analogue extension port and attach the tone ringer to it in the factory.

Then two of many programing solutions is as follows:-

1. create a group and renumber it to the extension number that is currently in the warehouse(you will need to give that extension a new number). Then put the digital extension and the analogue extension(tone ringer) in the group so they ring in parallel.

2. Staff transfer to the tone ringer(analogue extension) the warehouse phone then does a pickup to collect the call.

The paging port and night bell contact gives very limited ringing options in the CIX100. The analog cards for that system are the RSTU, BSTU, BSLU, or ACTU which is a small card mounted on the left side.

Another option, which would be even more versital is to use a spare digital port with a PI-DK from page industries. https://www.pageindustries.net/e-commerce-solutions-catalog3.5.html

I agree with newtecky - using the PI-DKT coupled with a Valcom V-1030C horn or two along with a VP-624 power supply will cover a good size area. This would also give you a seperate zone for paging just the bays.

Just wanted to add a third "that's what I would do too"

PI-DKTR, Valcom 1030's and a 624 will cover a large, noisy area.

One more option if there is not an available digital extension;

If there is already a phone that rings the way you like, add a BHEA, a BESCB1A external ringer amplifier, and a hord. Anything the goes out of that phone's speaker (ringing and page anouncements) will ring though the horn, maybe even if they used speakerophone.

I used this one time when a remote office wanted paging. I used an IP phone and this loud ringer setup.
