We have a CTX670 that is unable to successfully connect to two phone numbers. One number is a voice line, the other a fax. When we attempt to dial these numbers, they just ring endlessly. We can reach both numbers via cell phone and over a separate analog line not connected to the CTX. The voice line has voice mail which picks up after 5 rings. It never picks up when dialed through the CTX.

Have they been working or are they new to the switch and need to be programmed? If they have been in service have you tried changing line ports to see if perhaps you have bad ports,,, need more info.

Sorry if I didn't explain it correctly. These are two external numbers in another state. The problem has existed for at least 4 months.

Are all the lines from the same carrier?
Are you able to connect the separate, working analog line to the CTX and utilize it successfully?
Are you able to get on any of the CTX trunks with a butt-set, disconnect from the CTX and complete the call?
My first guess would be number modifications, but the fact that they ring no answer for so long tells me they completed one level of the call successfully.

You are going into the PSTN so there should be no possibility of the CTX doing anything wrong.
The local switch is sending ringing to those numbers, not the CTX.
Is it possible you have any LCR set up and your call is going to another number that is not answering?
Can you call the number while the people on the other end watch for a blinking light or could someone hook up a buttset to that line and see if there is ringing?

Numbers one digit above and below the problem numbers work.
ex: 1-123-123-1233 Works 1-123-123-1234 Does not work 1-123-123-1235 Does not work 1-123-123-1236 Works
That should rule out number modification.

Okay. That's a little more information. Are you able to answer any of hte other questions? ie - Are the lines you dial out on from the same carrier? Can you call the number, while someone is monitoring the call on a butt-set?

See what toll category the phones are in. Someone could have restricted ONE number.
