Normal remote access cannot be done because the ports TCP 20/21 and UDP ports 160/161 are being used by a head office location to remote in throught the router and we cannot use them. I had the network guy set up a VPN and we can log on with windows vpn and ping the phone cabinet ip address but cannot connect through EManager.

Any suggestions from the gurus out there.

thanks in advance

If the VPN is setup correctly and is not being firewalled or something this should work. I connect to a remote site with Emanager over an IPSEC VPN tunnel all the time without any issues.

I use VPN to my customers without any issues.

If you are still having VPN problems why not setup a remote desktop connection to a server with eManager installed?

Sounds like you want remote control over a machine, not a VPN??

Go Google logmein and try that for free. There's no firewall config needed since it's opening the port internally, and I've yet to find a firewall that caused a problem. You also don't need any IP tools because the service is centrally managed.

The trial period lets you use all the pro features and when it expires you can keep using the remote control function for free if you want, or upgrade to pro to get all the extra features.

(I was leary to try it myself, especially with all the VNC/RDP experience I've got, but what do you know, it really is a perfect fit for quick/easy remote access.)
