Darn so close to answering my question but I dont know what the base port number is that your talking about Voyager.
I just installed a cix 40 and when accessing the voice mail it plays the main greeting.
I traced it to SMDI but hit a wall there.
I am able to log into the Voice Mail using Stratagy VM. However I had a customer comming in the room every 5 mins asking if I was done because he didnt want to go over budget. Very distracting when your trying to concentrate on a problem. Figured I'd come back to the office and visit my favorate tech board for the answer laugh

Again, go into the Stratagy and set the base port number to the first VM port extension number.

Don't change the number of digits......

I can't log in. Used VM with unknown password. What about system programming for SMDI. Is the number of digits supposed to match numbering plan?

As far as numbering plan, it doesn't apply to the number of extension digits. The CIX will dend to the voicemail the VMID code, how ever many digits that includes.

Base port, is the first voicemail port programmed in the system, not the VM pilot number. If you change the number from defaut, you have to reprogram the voieamil with the new port information.

If you change the number of digits for the extensions from the default of 3, then the notify string may have to be modified or the voiemail may not turn on/off the message lights. There isn't anything that needs to change in the CIX.

If the voicemail password is not default, it would seem that the voicemail did not go to default. There are still ways to access it. Do you have access to Toshiba tech support or a toshiba tech that would know how to get in?
