First of all thanks for looking,
I have a few questions about Hunt Groups,
If a customer calls into our customer service department ( 3 Users) and the main extension for the user is busy (ext 100) for example I am going to assume that the purpose of the hunt will roll the call to the next extension in the group say ext 101, 102 and so on,
One of my questions is
Where will the call end up if no one picks up? Will it go to the original entered ext VM? (ext 100)
Currently we do not have a hunt group set up we are just forwarding the call using the #6041 funtion
This is not working out for us to well and I need to create a hunt group .
Please forgive the novice questions but due to the economy and some Changes around here this has all fallen on me and I know nothing about the system ( learn as I go type thing)
So I will have many more questions

Thanks for any help

I would suggest using a multiple call group. User 100 can be the first member set to immediate ring, 101, 102, 103, etc can all be set to delay1 ring, and vm pilot number set to delay2. Then control which vm box it goes into via the VMID.

RRino,

Thanks for the info; I was going to use a hunt group thinking this would be easier to set up since I only have about 4 pages of the E-manager manual.
Would this call group be referred to as something else like Pick-up group?
To further my explanation of the issue, The customer calls into our system and is directed to dial ext 100 for customer service, IF user 100 is on the phone or away from the desk I would like the system to search for the next available customer service agent ( Ext 101, 102 and so on), until the call is answered or transferred back to ext 100 VM,
Would that be a call group or a hunt group setting?

Thanks
Mike

Mike - In a Serial Hunt Group, the call will only hunt if first station is busy. If the call goes unanswered it will Not hunt to the next station.

There is also a Universal Call Group option. This operates more like a poor mans ACD. Calls will remain in queue until answered or overflowed to another destination.
