One of my main reasons for getting a Macbook was to carry around a laptop for programming Toshiba CIX but not have to have a heavy laptop and a bulky power supply.
The Macbook will run more hours than I could spend on site, so that is fine but I have always been a Mac person, using PCs only to program phone systems.
I have a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate that has both 32 bit and 64 bit software. Can you give me some advice on which is best to install as the PC portion on it will be most used on CIX?
Thanks, Bunnie

Well, personally I am 0-2 on installing NeM on Windows 7. I spent 4 hours on the phone with TS all to no avail. Luckily the customer had an older XP machine sitting around, got him back up and running in 30mins. I would see if you can locate a copy of XP rather than mess with Windows 7
I know there are techs out there that do have it running on Windows 7. I also know many techs that have a virtual XP setup on their Windows 7 machine just for NeM also.

Personally I'm using x64 but I doubt it makes a difference here. If you do remotes from it you'll need to run the Virtual PC XP Mode and map the com ports.
Rino - did you try launching the .exe as an Administrator?

I am running Windows 7 Pro 32bit without any issues at all. I have run the 64bit version on another PC also without any problems.
If you are going to run VMWare to run Windows then just install XP Pro as it will be easier and quicker and wont require too much RAM to run it.

I'm running NeM version V5.20B12Cx86 on my Windows 7 32 bit system. Had a few problems, mostly related to User Access Control, which I promptly disabled, and that solved most of my installation issues. If that doesn't work I'd recommend using virtual XP mode. I"m not sure how it works in VMware though.

Same here. I have it running on a Vista laptop and a W7 desktop... Both were little things here and there. I have never had a problem on XP, over the last few releases of Network eManger.
I would suggest Boot Camp for 7 or Vista and VM for XP
