Hello,
I have a CIX 670, using eManager 5.10A14:
I have a total of 200 extensions, there are certain extensions that are able to receive outside calls(i.e. ext 100 - 150), meaning the phone rings when people call in from a different number. I would like to make ext. 151 live so that is able to receive calls as well.
Within eManager I went to Station, Assignments and looked at 150 and printed out Basic, DKT, DSS, Key, Timer & Ring Down and compared ext 151 to the printouts.
I copied and changed all the 150 associations to 151 and selected submit before proceeding to the next tab. 151 still forwards outside calls to the main VM so I believe I am missing a step. I would greatly appreciate all assistance.

You may want to look at what multiple call groups are created and add extention 151 to it.

The issue is that there isnt just one way to accomplish this. Copying from one ext to another is not the best way to go about it either. First off you would need to know how the main line is ringing in, is it to an MCG (as jayman pointed out), or to a phantom, pooled line, etc. I think your best bet would be to contact your vendor and have them assist you. Its really a simple change for someone who is familiar with your system.

You have me confused. Most likely you have a PRi circuit with that number of total extensions. Most likely some of those phones ring on the main incoming group but maybe not all of the 50. Maybe some people have their own DID (Direct Inward Dial) number assigned to them in trunk programming.

I know you are trying to give us info, but I don't see we have enough info to pinpoint your situation and help you make changes.

Thanks, Bunnie

Jayman600,
I will check that out. Thank you for responding so quickly.

RRino,
Thanks for your input and for responding so quickly.

Bunnie,
Sorry about the lack of information, I wasn't sure how detailed I should be. I have two Pri's for A & B and a backup for the D channel. All assigned extensions have a DID, but for some reason the installation vendor did not assign all extensions because we have a total of 200 numbers.
I hope this give you some more insight.
I apologize for not knowing telecommunication terminology, my education is computer engineering. I have downloaded 4 PDFs on Toshiba setup, configure, programming and management totaling about 1000 pages I have not read these entirely but by per topic. I would like to get formally trained and certified but Toshiba has not contacted me after I inquired. The reason being I work for a Fed Govt program and access to the floor is highly restricted, background checks are needed and it would be easier if I could do the config myself. Do you you have to be a vendor in order to get original documentation? Do you know of any books for the 670?
Thanks,
Steven

Let me just reiterate my question: There are 200 extensions created and are working internally. DID is configured on most extensions(ext. 100-150), I need to use eManager to configure DID for an extension(151). This extension does not ring when called from an outside number.

In that case you just need to assign a DID to ring to x151. Look at the DID for x150 and how it is programmed, then find an unused DID (you could possibly use the very next DID in the block) and assign that to ring to x151.

As you have eManager, you could go into the Trunks tab to DID and look at any extension. That is where you assign a DID to ring on an extension.

You may have overlooked the "HELP" tab. The manual for programming is right there.

Alternatively, many people on the board could be hired to web into the system assuming you know the IP address and are authorized to give it out.

As you have eManager, you should be able to go into the DID section of trunks and assign a DID in a few seconds. Hopefully you have a list of DIDs (Document, document, document) and if some very compulsive person programmed these DIDs before, the last three digits will match the extension and you can just use 151.

RRino, Bunnie,
Thank you both very much. Yes the numbers are contiguous and the extensions are associated with the numbers(4001 = ext. 101, 4101 = ext. 201). Again, thanks for the help and consider this thread closed.
