This forum is the best... Thanks Moderators.
Need Help. All my DKT's have a key programmed to open a CO line. This connects a third party PA system to the Toshiba. The third party has changed thier programming to be 911 compliant, so I need to change the CO line (key) to a string. #7004... I got that ok. The problem is when the key is programmed to open Line 4 the button stays lit, so any one who accesses the PA the light on the key stays lit. But when I program that key for a (One Touch) with a string the key does stay lit. Any suggestions on a solution. I need that key to stay lit for the duration of the connection, and for it to show on all the DKT's as an active line.

I don't get why you have to change it from a CO button to a one-touch button. If you leave it as a CO button, then it will show a busy LED whenever it is accessed. And what do you mean the PA is now 911 compliant?

FCC Regulations requires every phone in a school to have the ability to reach an outside 911 operator by only dialing the (911) keys. Older systems require you to access an outside line first. The third party PA system company is now manufacturing thier systems to be 911 compliant. Before the change any DKT can access the PA system using a BUTTON programmed for (Line-4). I now need to add a (9), (*) and (1) after the CO is opened. This can be accomplished by programming the BUTTON (#7004), (9), (#) and (1). Now the issue is that the button does not stay light through the duration of the connection, or does it show a live connection on other DKT's. Which is imperative due to the number of DKT's throughout the building. Any suggestions?

A second option would be, also using 2 keys, is have one as the one touch with the #7004, etc, marked as PAGE, and the second CO key marked as PAGE BUSY. I can not think of another way at this time.

Make the CO 4 diabled for outgoing so they can not press it directly . I assume you have made this CO it's own OLG with Immediate cut through enabled, since it sounds like the paing part works ok.

I still don't understand why the page equipement needs an extra code for paging and how that effects dialing 911.
