Installed a refurbed CTX100 (ACTU2) W/ (1) ADKU, and (1) RCOU/RCOS W/ (5) 3020-SD sets two weeks ago. After about 2 days X203 started having problems- CO 1 was lit along with station 201's DSS, both CO 1 and station 201 were idle. I unplugged the set and it rebooted and cleared the problem. Two days later the same problem came back along with X204 having the same problem. I replaced the ADKU with a PDKU and the problem cleared. Now X200's ICM key is lit, ringing, and wont stop, haven’t gone out yet to see what’s what yet. I’ve rebooted the system, re-seated the cards, checked for voltage on the IW, and shook a chicken foot at the DSU while reciting the secret Toshiba Tech chant, no go. HELP!

Maybe start with replacing the ADKU with a BDKU. The 3020's were designed to run on a BDKU.

I think I will have to somewhat disagree with that statement. The ADKU is the 8 port digital card that is not expandable (like the BDKU) and will only work in the CIX100. It will work with the DKT3000 series phones just like the BDKU.

I'm not sayin that the ADKU is not at fault in this case. Just saying that the phones will work with that card.

You are probably right, I was probably thinking more of a PDKU.

Carlos brings up a good point about grounding.

I have seen on the older systems when they are not earth grounded they can do some erratic things on the handsets.
It was more on the earlier BDKU cards.
We stopped selling the ADKU cards as there wasnt much point as they were the same price as a BDKU card.

And the DKT3000 handsets will work fine on an ADKU or BDKU

Last time I had a strange issue Toshiba told me to use the wire mesh wrap that comes with the 670 cabinet.

In that case it ended up being a DKT2000 series hookswitch problem.

I think the secret Toshiba Tech chant changes depending on the moon phase, but not sure about that one.

All great info, thanks very much to all of you!

It was not grounded, I replaced the ADKU1 With a PDKU2 last week. And this is for Newtecky- I used the wrong chant and forgot my chicken foot. Looks like I'm goin back out. Thanks again.
