First off, thanks to Ed @ Telesystems, Inc who turned me onto this forum!
I'm in need of a company, individual, team, etc that can lease and/or rent 100 single line analog phones for the night of November the 4th (Election Day) in the Washington DC Metro area.
I have already setup the lines through Verizon but now I need the phones and do not want to purchase 100 cheapie phones that I would only use (maybe) one every four years.
I have called around to 6 or 7 companies in the area but haven't had much luck so far. Any suggestions?
Thanks

How about Verizon or do they not rent SLT's anymore?

Hate to be a spoilsport but chances are, anybody that is willing to rent them to you will want $1200-$1500 or more. Otherwise, it's not really worth the time and effort. It's a little late, but if you hit all the Walmarts and Kmarts, you can probably get them yourself for less than that. And then either 'have a phone garage sale' OR, give them to the phone bank people as a thank you! And fair warning, It'll take all day to set up that many. And make sure that Verizon is going to install a jack for each phone line, AT THE POINT OF USE! Otherwise, they'll just bring them in to RJ21's and you'll have to run wire and install jacks! John C.

buy them , have a logo silkscreend on them "election night '08 xxx" (xxx name of group )
then sell them with a COA afterward or better yet offer them to your base ahead of time for a 50-100 donation

Depending on how the space is setup, RJ-21X may be easier. Allen Tel makes these breakout blocks that take a RJ-21X, and break it out to 25 RJ-11's. You can loop through them, so just string some 25 pair connectorized cable, and grab the lines you need at each drop location. Allen Tel AT125-SM They also make 5 line versions that grab groups of 5 lines. AT450-SM1/2/3/4/5 https://www.allentel.com/page84.html Say you are setup in a hotel ballroom, with 8' folding tables, with 3 seats per side of each table, and 4 tables per row. you drop one 25 pair to each row, and drop 25 phones, putting one on an end. your RJ-11 cables end up being 35' or less, depending on where you drop the breakout.

Thanks for all the great tips! I have found one company that thinks they may be able to do it and still waiting to hear back from Verizon. Skip, I like the idea of the silkscreen but this cost is being picked up by the client so not sure they would go for it Tantivy, the breakouts you listed are pretty much what I had in mind, thank you. LH, appreciate the advise and ttech may have the best cost saver of all, just bring them from home , haha love that one! Thanks, if I do find a decent rental solution I will post it.
