We have a CIX670 with a PRI trunk and DID's, and a MAS server for Voicemail, No ACD. We need to add an answering service for after hours and when the operator is not available.
Currently the main line rings to a PDN Which rings the proper Extensions, then it goes to voice mail (Extension 100) after no pickup.
I would like it to do the following:
Day1 - Pickup with a greeting automatically, then ring the operators phones for 5-10 seconds, then transfer to the answering service.
Day3(Night) - Pickup with a greeting automatically, then transfer to the answering service.
Whats the best way to set this up?

The day/night key typically only changes the way the incoming calls ring to the system, and a few other things like call forward destinations.
If they work on a set schedule, 8AM - 5PM for example, you could setup an auto schedule in the voiemail, where it would transfer to the operators during this time, then trasfer to the service after hours. You woud not be able to toggle day/night. it would only be on a schedule.
If you want control, then a call forwarding button could work. If it is ok to have extension 100 control forwarding, this could be simply to setup call forwarding on extension 100 to the external number on no answer, then have a call forwarding button to turn on call forward all to the same service. The minor inconvienience is if anyone dials extension 100 when forwarding is on, then the caller, even internal, would ring to the service.
If that last part won't work, then there is always phanom DNs to control the forwarding.

In other words it is not a hard job to accomplish if you know how to program the system and voicemail. What you are asking is a very straight forward request.
