Hi Guy's,
Not sure if you can help but over in the UK our ACD is installed on a stand alone machine with Dongles licenced by Toshiba.
Most of our customers are now asking to move their ACD onto virtual servers. Many of them are becoming increasingly frustrated at having to keep a serperate stand alone server running for their ACD and cannot see any reason for not being able to run ACD on virtual servers.
I am being told by Tech that due to the real-time dongle interaction ACD must run on stand alone server. Surely if i apportion enough resource on the Virtual machine to the ACD it should be fine?
Has anyone got ACD running on a virtual server?
Cheers Chris

Hi Chris I have just tested my ACD configuration in a Windows XP virtual enviroment. So long as you attach the USB resourse to the Virtual XP it will read the dongle without any issues. Go for it

The only issue I can see is that the Dialogic VA card could be an issue.
Maybe some further testing is required.....
But the VA could be on another PC rather than in the virtual enviroment.
Hope you are keeping my ACD customers happy in my absence.
Regards Carl

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of putting the server on a virtual machine if you had to have a seperate machine to run the VA? Now if you are using IP ports for the VA, thats a different story.
