Just out of curiosity, apart from logging into voice mail simultaneously until it won't answer any more, how can you tell the number of ports in a GVPH1 voice mail card?

The card in this CIX40 unit has 8 LEDs with legends channel 1 - channel 8

The licensing page in emanager shows LVMU 4 ports 4 used

Thank you

I'm pretty sure they all came with 4 and you could buy more licenses.

Every GVPH I have put in came with 4 voicemail ports. The default CIX40 even puts them into a hunt group already.

I don't think I have every come across a reason for needing more then 4 ports, but I do think I remember it being expandable to 8 ports Interesting abut the LVMU licensing tho. I knew the LVMU was simular to the GVPH, but I wonder if you add ports to the GVPH the same as the LVMU, through emanager.

You must have release 5.10 or later to get over 4 ports on the GVPH1. The number of ports is licensed to the processor just like for the LVMU.

I have.

A customer has 16 incoming CO lines, 64 extensions and uses full auto-attendant. A 4-port VM just wouldn't work.

I think Newtecky was referring to the CIX40 needing more than 4 ports.

Although it may not have been clear, that was my thinking when I said it. The CIX 40 has a max of 16 digital users and 11 lines, if not using VoIP.

I have seen other lager systems that needed more then 4 ports. There was one office that was live answer. Because so many employees just let the phone ring on incoming calls, the 4 ports were definately not enough. But they would rather have 20+ employees let the incoming calls roll to voicemail( and yell at them when they run a report) then implement the ACD system they already owned.
