Here in Canada, we connect to Com2 of the beige faced IVP8 using 9600 Baud. We use a Null Modem Cable. Make sure you use the factory default password, or if it has been changed, use the proper password. I have not tried the admin program on 64 bit windows but I have used it on XP machine, and also on a W7 64 bit machine under "XP Mode". There are also challenges to USB to serial converters as well. We use a Keyspan USB to serial. All these many variables have to be aligned at the same time for it to work
