I am trying to get an IPT to work over a Sonicwall VPN, the phone gets an IP address and can ping the LIPU but does not connect. I think the display reads "connecting to primary IPU" but gets no further than that. Any ideas or different settings to try?

I had a problem with similar. Not Sonic wall. The IPT would time out before it found the IPU. I put the same address in the secondary IPU as the primary, and it worked. It just needed more time to register. Upgraded the firmware in the IPT and the IPU, problem dissapeared and it didn't need the secondary IPU setting anymore.

Had a similar problem, in the sonic wall under the voip tab I had to uncheck the H.323 settings and enable the sip settings "Permit non-SIP packets on signaling port" and phones came up
good luck
