has anyone set up and programed a t-1 with did's.I have a customer who wants to go from ground start did to a t-1, and how hard is it to set up.

Older STS only use D4-Ami T-1, check your rev level. The DID's are a pain, but once you get one setup, the rest is just data entry.

It is not that difficult to setup. Just be aware of software version numbers, The newer system support both d4 & b8zs.
The only thing difficult is just figuring the route tables. As stated above, once you understand the relationship it is very straightforward. You should at least read up from a vodavi manual what needs to be set.
With the t1 you need to define the signaling, # of digits coming in, and the route table.
