The basic STS ksu includes a CIDU on the built-in LCOB. I have not been able to get caller ID to work at a particular installation (have never used the CID feature before). I have made the ring delay timer 6 secs (flash 40, page C, button 2) and added a feature 653 button to all phones. We verified Caller ID is working from Telco with a caller ID equipped phone. Tech support wasn't much help. What have I overlooked?

Make sure the caller ID board is seated correctly in the cabinet. There have been known issues with the caller ID, you may have to get a replacement from your supplier

We checked the CIDU to make sure it is properly seated, it was... What about flash 56? As I understand it, that only applies if you are using the external CID unit.

I am not 100% sure on this but I believe the ksu comes defaulted to show only CID name (not number). Are you sure the customer is receiving name along with the number? If not you can set it to show number on the displays of the phones to test again.

Make sure the firmware on the CIDU is 1.0D and the card is seated properly.

I unboxed a brand-new STS in my office and tried to get the Caller ID feature to work with no luck (I have verified the caller ID is being delivered and works with a callerID equipped phone). Any other suggestions before I try tech support again? Thanks.

You can try bringing one of the KSUs and a phone somewere else that has caller ID and Try it there. Just punch A jack on the blue pair of a female cable and 1 on a blue pair of a male cable
It may be that the STS is not as "sensitive" and May need a Perfect Clear Loud Line to get the Info.
It's worth a try

I discovered that the problem is the fact that the line I am using has DSL. I moved the filter from near the NI to the KSU and it works. I didn't think that 25' of cable in the ceiling would make a difference, but it does. Thanks all for your input.

Thanks for the info, good to know. I've had to do just the opposite for intermitten cut offs, had to move the filter closer to the NI. Go figure. Bill
