Do any of you know of a fix for(here it goes), i have like 50 or 60 classroom phones and the superintendant would like the classroom phones to only be able to contact the office phones(which are 30 button sets) and thats it they can't call other classrooms or other offices just the main offices for the elem and high. just throwing it out there not thinking there is going to be anything. i know i can restrict trunk calls which we are doing but intercom?

Well that is a good question! Here’s what we came up with as a work around.

If you put all your classroom phones in DND they will not be able to call each other. The attendant can use “attendant override” (601) to call the classrooms. You can have up to 3 attendants on the system.

Not a great solution, but the best we could come up with.

Maybe you could try using the hotline/ringdown feature. You could only program one extension as the rx'ing phone, or if you need it to ring all the Office phones perhaps make the hotline call external to the schools main number. Kinda cumbersome but might work.

(added)
If you go the external route and you are using AA to answer the calls it may be self defeating as they would be able to enter the extension they wanted to call in the first place. If that's the case maybe you could pull off one line from the AA and dedicate for incoming "teacher" calls only.

Well here is what i came up with and it works very well so in the future if you need give me a email or put this in your memory bank.

In Flash 51 programming page B button 7 you have a SCHOOL ZONE feature, you can disable or be an admin, or a be a classroom. So if you set all of your classroom phone to classroom type and any phone that you want to be a administrator(ex. office phone, IT, etc.) you set them to administrator type. Here is the cool thing, Classroom phones can't call each other but can call the administrator phones and admin. phones can call in to the classrooms, and incoming outside call if permitted are directed to where ever you forward all the classrooms to.
You use the School Zone feature code (630) and tell it where the classroom phones need to go(ex. vm, office phone, etc.)
Works great if anybody needs more info let me know.
