Hi, I have a client that has purchased our MOH product, and in evaluating her phone system setup, I found something very awkward. She uses the SP61612 Enhanced Key Speakerphones, but claims there is NO KSU in the office. She described that her phone is connected to black box marked "Archer 4 Line Tap Catalog# 43270." I researched this devices and found it to be a RadioShack device that is no longer produced. Could this device be acting as a KSU?? Anyone ever heard of a setup like this?? My client has described to me that her phone connects to the device with a "thick printer-like cable" and her 2 office lines plug into the box as well. Any assistance is greatly appreciated... Thanks!!

Sounds strange to me too...I could'nt find any info about the Archer, but my first reaction is to say she has a system somwhere she is not aware of. Do the DSS keys up top light up when shes offhook? I would talk her thorugh getting into programming from the set to see if anyhting is in fact on the other end. If it's a SP61612, the system should be either an old analog 308,616,616flex or 1224. Either way going into programming from ext 10 should be the same.

A archer 4 line tap is an OLD adapter that had a Amphenol in and Amphenol out. It plugged into the cable between the 1A2 KSU and the 1A2 phones to break out the T/R leads of the cable so you could hook up answering machines or modems to the lines The Archer adapter sold at radioshack was similat to this https://www.allentel.com/item-detail.cfm?ID=AT450&storeid=1 Follow that cable and you will find the KSU ~DON~
