I was wondering if anyone out there has an XTS running on the new FP2 software. From what Ive seen on the tech alert it has alot of new and great enhancements on it. I would also like to know if anyone has found any bugs on it. thanks

I just upgraded my in-house XTS to FP2. Its nice to finally have 'virtual' extensions on a key system. One tip regarding the upgrade proceedure- turn sw8 on before starting the software upload. The system will not reboot itself (as per the instructions) after you swap rom banks otherwise. Oh yeah, don't forget to dump your database to disk first...

I just installed the new software in an existing XTS which is also getting the VOIP phones. I haven't played with it much. I am really interested in the new virtual extensions. The upgrade is only for the XTS's, not the XTSc yet. Something I have been waiting for. The one thing noticable is the new blinking on the led's. Not accustomed to it yet.
Tip and ring, the work of the devil!

We are using it on a site where multi-tenant service was required. Before this, the second tenant couldn't dial 9 to access their trunks, they had to dial 802 which was cumbersome. With the new SW, the stations and trunks can be grouped by tenant so that they all can dial 9. Nice feature, since their DID numbers are 8000 through 8299 and major dialing plan changes would have been necessary for dial access to trunk groups. One thing to note; ALL CO lines are now placed in group 1 regardless of tenant. It's when you assign the trunks to a tenant (along with the stations) that keeps them separated. Also, don't enable line sharing because what will happen is that anyone who dials 9 will grab the last line in group 1, regardless of which tenant owns them. This defeats the purpose. Other than that, it seems to work great. The call coverage timer (per station) is nice too.

Just a note....I have recently found out that with FP2 it does have some problems on a MPB1 card as far as downloading with windba and trying to connect with hyper terminal...the emulation seemed to change to VT100 instead of ansi and the baud rate went to 9600...also seemed to get an error message that it thought i was downloading from a plus 4 and disabled the future use of expansion cabinets....I called tech support and blew them away with this...they said enginering is working on it.

I've never had that issue and i've been running FP2 on 3 sites now. are you sure you are using the right WindBa version? I think you can download the newest version off of there website. I use Hyperterm or flash programming for just about everything. when i build or have significant changes i download the file from hyperterm, import it in windba, and make the changes and then i upload that database to a .dnl file and upload it in hyperterm. I've had a lot of flakey stuff happen with windba

Yes in fact i recieved the latest version from tech support.... it would appear that I am about the only one who bounces back and fourth between windba and hyper terminal throughout an install and thats how i found it....if you mostly use the phone to program....and or just hyperterminal your ok....even using the update feature is ok... but for example....doing a partial upload has messed up a couple of our sites now so it has become practice to only do updates....or use the phone otherwise its a matter of defaulting the switch and re-uploading your database.....go figure???
