Hello All,
I am new to VODAVI telephone system, and never worked before on any telphonysystem.
I am trying to write one Program (Serial Port Comm using JAVA) which will send command to VODAVI system to dial XXX-XXX-XXXX number for XXX station. But There must be code to get outgoing line and dialing numbers. Can anybody post those code???
We have VODAVI Discovery telephone system.

Thanks in advance.

I am not sure I know what you're trying to do?

Do you have a Vodavi phone system with the Discovery Link module hooked up to a phone? Or are you trying to program something to the serial port on on the main processing board of the phone system?

You cannot program your request to the main serial port on the system. It doesn't support commands having a specific extension dial a string.

Vodavi does have a Discovery link module which hooks up in line with a phone. It has a serial port connector on it. It supports something similar to what you are requesting. I don't know what kind of Vodavi supported documentation exists to recommend.

Please give a little more specifics of what you are looking for.

Thanks for quick reply.
Actually I am trying to program Auto-Dialer to the serial port on the main processing board of the phone system.
Here what I am trying to achieve, from our software User will click on Dial button (after lifting their handset) and then the request will come to the server, and then server will send signal to telephone system via serial cable to dial X number from X station.
And for this i wrote a java comm program which will sit on server and listen to user request, once it receive the request then format the telephone# and station# send it to telephone system via serial port(but for this i need telephone system's code to get outgoing line and dial the numbers).
If somebody can provide these code or if i m doing wrong, then just stir me to right direction.
I appreciate ur help.
Thanks

Vodavi is in the process of releasing their new server-based solution that will provide exactly what you are looking to do. It will only work with their XTS system though. I have seen a demostration of the product and it looks hot but it's not yet available on the open market.

How come there's always enough time to go back and fix it a second time?
