I have 20 years inter-connect experience, but none with Vodavi - unless you count replacing them. The system I need to program has plastic cabinet with a plastic cover that snaps onto plastic tabs (no screws). The cabinet is rectangular, about 20" high x 12" wide. It is marked as a Vodavi Starplus Digital. IRS level AL The main board is marked VCS 42 The mfg date is 3197
It is a wedge shaped flat stacking system. the main board has one amphenol for that accomodates the 8 main board stations and 4 expansion stations. The main board also has 4 RJ 11 jacks for CO connections and an RCA connector in the lower right hand corner.
The 2 CO by 4 station expansion card stacks on top of the main board and is long and narrow. It has no amphenol connector. The 4 stations appear on the main board amphenol. There are 2 RJ 11 jacks on the expansion board.
Station cabling is 2 pair per digital station.
What is the actual name or model of the system. I am a member of the tel-programmer.com manual service but need the right name to get a manual.

Sounds like the Starplus Digital 1428. Whats the part number on the KSU?

Does sound like a 1428.
What color is the cabinet? Sort of a dark grey?
Do you have any display phones to go with it? If so connect one to the 1st station port and power the system up; it might ID the system during power-up.

You definitely have either a Starplus 612, 1428 or an infinite DVX1. Either way, the programming is exactly the same. The only difference is that the 612 is limited in expansion capability (an expansion cabinet cannot be added to it).

It is a 1428. Thanks for the help - the manuals website listed close to 20 manuals - would have taken forever to download and look through all. Oh, and who are you kidding, that's Bill Gates' graduation picture.
