Well, I changed ICLID to Port 2.

WinDBA connects & transfers now, and I can get HyperTerminal to connect, but all I get is the log-in header, entering the PW does nothing; cursor goes dead. That may be a different issue though.

At least I can use WinDBA now.

Edit >>>> But then again, there may be a problem with the older notebook or the older version of HyperTerminal. The newer notebook and the desktop both connect fine now with almost any cable, including a USB to Serial adapter cable. Both HT and WinDBA work.

So I guess I owe OldH2oSkier a coffee and a donut! laugh :thumb:

Was that something I was supposed to know? I've never seen that in any of the books.......

I am really not the tech of the year but the system i have here needs a special programming cable(avaya cpuv100),
the rs232 i had was just an out the box one and didn't work, called a tech out, he plugged in his cable and it works,
they also sometimes change the port settings to get the max speed out of it to 38400!
I asked the tech guy where to get a cable and they are sending me an avaya programming cable next week so maybe give your local telecoms guy a shout and he can get one,
they said it should be easy to make but i haven't found anything positive on the net other than this

Vodavi insists that you use Hyperterm PE rather than the version that comes with Windows (not sure that I agree, but what the heck). You can download it free at https://www.hilgraeve.com/htpe/

I had ksu with same issue. When I would connect to program if I did not enter and key strocks with in 30 seconds or so it would lock up programming. Had to reboot the ksu. Ended up swapping it out for a newer version and everything was fine.

What version of software are you running in it?
