We would like to be able to see what incoming lines are ringing, who is answering the lines, and what stations are active from a computer screen. Is this possible? If so, what equipment/software would I need. We are looking for the most afordable method. (We don't have a modem card or and voicemail system)

I'm thinking that you still have your STS system. Is that correct? Why are you wanting to see all of this on a computer screen? Wouldn't it be less expensive and much easier to just get a phone programmed with all the lines and DSS buttons?? I'm confused---but that's not new. Are you looking for SMDR---a print-out of all or specific phone/line activity? Give more info.

I suppose that a computer with terminal software running, like Hyperterminal, could be used to capture SMDR raw data. I would think that this situation is leaning more toward a call accounting software package that allows the customer to "capture" periods of time.
I can't think of an inexpensive way to provide this function. It's certainly not something the phone system can do unless doing what JW said, just a phone providing a visual display at a glance.

SMDR won't give you a live, real-time display anyways. It only spits data at the end of each call. It would show you which station WAS on which line and for how long, but it won't show anything while the call is in progress.
You're wanting more of a PC based BLF [Busy Lamp Field]. I had that capability on a NEAX PBX [$300,000 system], but I'm not sure you can do it on a small KEY system. It would be nice if there were an application out there, but it would be third party, not from Vodavi.
Are you wanting this to be visible at more than one location?
How many lines do you have? How many stations?
One way to do it is to put a DSS/BLF add-on (3510-XX) unit at each location and program the buttons accordingly as Stations or CO Lines. That will show which station and lines are active, but will NOT show you which station is on which line.
