The 1402 is the expansion cabinet for the 1428 system only. It provides four additional lines and eight additional extensions. A daughter board can be added to it to provide yet another four lines and eight station.

If you have a 1428 that you need to expand, it is worth it. If you do not have a need for it, there are tons of them around as most people that had the 1428 have long since moved on to newer systems.
