Yes, you can transfer to a mailbox, but it's not as graceful as the newer systems permit. You will need to press trans, dial 590 and wait for the system to answer, then dial whatever digits reside in your "leave" table, then hang up. The newer versions allow the "690 + ext" to be used which is obviously easier.
If you are using call forward-busy/no answer, then transferred callers to the station will reach the mailbox immediately if the unattended station's DND button is turned on. CFBNA is activated by first cancelling the existing forwarding and then pressing the FWD button and dialing 4690.

Sweet. Well, I'm now tasked with making this equipment fly, whereas before it was a project of sorts, and I was able to walk away from it when I couldn't make it work.
So, having said that, I'm close to having the right setup. Either I'm missing something or this Debut has a problem. I "re-initialized" it after changing out the button battery by running the 1st time setup, and have the correct integration for 96EX.
What we want to do is use the Debut for VM only. No auto attendant, no holiday or after hours call processing. With that, I have box 800 setup to rout calls based on the call number which I'm assuming is the 3 digit extension #. 800 is setup to go to 821 when no digits are dialed, which is my directory box. I don't know if this is the proper setup........
I have 4 of the 96EX extensions dedicated to the Debut. I have those extensions defined in VM group 690. (flash 36) I have that group programmed into a VM flex button on the phones. We're using SP-61614-00's.
The Debut maliboxes are setup for no transfer.
Each extension in the system is programmed as a flex button on each phone for 1 touch station to station calling. So here comes an inbound CO that the operator wants to transfer to an extension that's busy, in DND or has been fwded to VM.
At this point, there's 3 ways to transfer the CO:
1.) EXT flex button/hang up 2.) TRANS + ext #/hang up 3.) VM flex + ext digit (from box 800 destination table)/hang up
...correct?
*Problem 1* No matter what method is used, the VM box that actually get's connected to the CO is pot luck. It could be any box....including 70 (admin)
*Problem 2* Volume outbound to CO is low. Is there an adjustment?
*Problem 3* If I try the transfer using method #3 it prompts me to hold and plays the box name, the caller hears the 3 digit dtmf, and then it dumps the call.
Calling in to retrieve messages is all over the place too, probably because flash 37 isn't right.
