Is there any way to turn off the dial by name feature in a STSe with flash-based VM?
Not just the feature but also the prompt to dial 4 that comes after the customer recorded announcement.

Yes, in the pbx intergtation screen delete the"4" for dial by name, leave it blank. You will also have to re-record the system prompt that tells callers to dial 4 for the directory. I don't recall the prompt number, might ne 114 or 115. It is in the documentation. I'm sure Ed will know

Thanks for the Kudos, DosJock! You guys give me way too much credit.

You are correct. I have never had a request to do this, so I am not sure. I think you have to use the F4 key to actually delete the entry in that field. I don't think simply blanking it out actually erases the entry.

That dial by name prompt exists all over the place. It's important to NOT delete the prompts, rather simply record one second of silence in their place, since once the prompts are erased, they can't be restored without a complete initialization. This is why it is an affordable voice mail solution; it's limited, but it works.
