I have a cusotmer with a Vodavi system that, up until yesterday was working fine. Now all of the phones currently display:

LKD-24D V0.6H
SCOUT-DX V1.1 NO SYNC

I'm not familiar with these systems at all. Already tried rebooting, no good. Wiring looks fine. . . Any suggestions?

Thanks

I guess I should mention, their phones are Starplus STS and they do not work at all. No dial tone, internal or external.

This sounds like an STSe system. We will need to know the model number from the label on the KSU in order to give you accurate support.

You definitely have an STSe. On the far left side of the motherboard, there is a single switch (NOT the battery switch). Don't touch the battery switch OR any of the bank of 8 dip switches. Try powering the system down, change the position of this single switch and then power it back up. If it does come back up, then you are good to go. If not, power it down and place this switch back in it's original position. Let's see if that works before we try anything else.

Just got more info from the customer: the system seems to have slowly went down. A few days ago they couldn't dial out on line one. They could receive calls, but not access it to dial out. Then line two started doing the same thing. Then, yesterday, they couldn't use one of their "DSS" keys to intercom another extension, the button was just dead. And now all of the phones are "dead", except for the dispay.

I see (going left to right) the 8 dip switches, a small push button switch, then a vertical On/Off switch that looks to connect to the battery. The only other switch I see is on a small daughter board with the label V70E BKSU V1.00 and it has a small, red, vertical On/Off switch. Is this the one I should change?

There is a very good chance that the original installer didn't properly initialize the database when the system was first installed. Since the memory is flash-based, there could have been a gremlin lurking for some time that caused it to gradually fail.

Changing the switch that I mentioned switches between the memory banks. If there's a copy of the database in the other bank, then this might be all that's needed.

If this doesn't solve the problem, the next step should be to pull all cards out in the system down to the motherboard and see if it comes up. I have seen faulty pin alignment in the caller ID card (upper right hand corner) cause this.
