Dear VODAVI/VERTICAL fans, I'm looking for more input/comments on above product? I have one setting in office and have not turned it lose on IP yet. I must say the quality of audio on voicemail is somewhat below par to my ageing ears. Our maybe its just my ears, as it seems a little muffled audio wise, and the gain is not constant. What say folks? I P seeing u.

Ehhh, I have a demo system set up at my office and it's OK. The voice mail is very similar to the STSe in-skin flash memory card. I like that because it's easy for our office people to offer end-user support instead of having to learn a completely different product. For the price that it's being sold, we really can't complain. My biggest concern is the three line capacity unless SIP trunking is used. We don't have many service providers that offer that service yet. I am in a major metropolitan area, so I can't imagine that it's going to be a system that can be marketed in more outlying or rural areas where SIP might be years away. Then, there's the issue of only four line/loop keys. What if they have SIP or even the promised three-line expansion unit? Customers with systems of this size aren't going to be willing to park and retrieve calls. They are used to placing a call on hold and picking it up at another station. That's going to be an issue. I also am concerned over the "all in one box" architecture. If anything goes wrong, nothing works. Yikes! It is a mighty nice little package though. Talk about space-saving!

i'm trying to figure out how to have a remote IP phone and how to change the music on hold music.
the whole KSU is smaller than a laptop!

Just wondering if anyone has installed an X-IP in an actual customer setting yet and what kind of feedback you are getting????
Thanks, Timbo

jsaad - I have this switch at home (for my business) and just got the latest release for the switch and phones. Call vertical tech support and they will give the ftp site to download upgrade files and also pdfs to tell you how to change the moh. Also, if you want to have the ip phone remote, you have to change the sip proxy server ip address to be the static ip address (if that is what your using) of the Xcelerator. Tech support should be able to help you with this also. So far, I like the switch and phones.

I believe it maxes out at 3x24, unless you use SIP trunks.

We have two demo models one for each of our offices, and have yet to sell one. Customers seem to like the idea but with the limited ability to expand ie: no sip trunking available, they seem a bit put off. For our customers looking for a small middle of the road system we sell alot of the STS just for the ability to increase co's. Another thing customers don't seem to like is the phones themselves. The like the functional feature buttons and the amount you can get with the different phones. By far the 30 button is our best seller even if they don't need that many buttons the option to use them they like. So we try but they just aren't sold on the idea yet.
