Is the data base information stored in the PMU or in memory on the main board. Reason I ask is I have a customer whose system is down, won't boot past the phone bios. I have a spare KSU and PMU. I have the data base backed up on floppy, but is from several years ago. Just wondered if I put the old PMU in the new ksu would the data base still be there?
Thanks,
Steve

I'm quite certain that it is NOT stored in the PMU. Ed or someone else should confirm/deny this.
Glad you have a back up!

The PMU only carries the operating system on EEPROMS. The memory is definitely stored on the motherboard.
The behavior that you are seeing from the system is indicative of a failed or failing memory battery. If the battery is dead or turned off, the system won't boot up at all.
