Customer makes Centrex transfers. There is a confirmation tone at the end of the transfer that is being heard by the receiver’s phone system as a DTMF tone, thereby transferring the caller to a destination. Is there a way to mute this tone or eliminate it?

Operation currently used to do the transfer:
FLASH
Dial number
FlASH
Hang up

Is the second flash necessary? That is usually the proceudure for a three way call. I think the tone is coming from the second flash and signals that a conf has initiated. Skip the second flash and see if the call still transfers.

Ok, so it turns out it is the carrier's problem and not the system's. The system is on a Dynamic T, and it is the carrier that is making the tone.

This is their explanation:
The caller does the centrex transfer, the carrier puts the call on hold for a millisecond, this hold is in turn heard by the IVR on the other end which translates it as a DTMF from the caller. Usually this is not a problem as most IVR systems do nto pick up a tone immediatly...so says the carrier.

Solution: replace the dynamic T with a regular T1.

Lesson learned: Dynamic T's (in this area) on a channel bank do not do centrex transfer correctly.
