I have inherited the responsibility of managing the phone system here and lucky me i've never seen or touched one of these things before in my life. I do apologize ahead of time for the possible ignorance of this post.

Anyways, I have a vodavi 3012-71 (rev 1.3) at my desk and I need to change a co-worker's display name. (When he dials me it is not his name that is displayed) I had thought it was controlled by a terminal we have onsite, but I guess I was wrong about this as everything I have changed does not show up on the display. Anyone have any insight onto how I go about changing the name associated to his extension?

FYI I did find an Infinity Talkpath book, in case that is helpful info to know.

It's located in user guide.

Under CONTENTS look for NAME IN DISPLAY.

You are probably referring to an "infinite" Talkpath book, but that is for a voice mail system. That has no bearing on the phone display. You will need to refer to the user's guide for the appropriate phone system that you have supporting the 3012 phones. One of these comes with every phone, so there must be at least one of them kicking around. If not, check back and we'll help you. We are permitted to offer user's guide assistance if necessary.

If there is a name displayed but wrong, Try this, from the station press 690 and then spell the name and use "Speed" to save.
You spell the name as A = 21, B = 22, and C = 23.
Try that.
