I am hoping any of you that have been through the SBX installations can help us.

We have a new install (actually one of our first SBX) that went into a small lawyer's office. We have 2 of the extensions setup in the day ring group for incoming rings on all lines. The problem is, we would like all the other stations to also be able to pick up that ringing incoming call if necessary when the 2 other people are not at their desks.

The problem seems to also be that when the incoming call is ringing in, the DSS buttons for those particular stations that are assigned in the "Day Ring" group also flash as do the lines that are ringing on all telephones in the system. This seems to be annoying and no help to the user when trying to answer the incoming call.

Vodavi's tech support suggested that we remove all DSS buttons from the telephones so the users don't see all the "Day Ring group" users DSS buttons flashing. That does not suit our needs, as the DSS buttons are needed for the other users in the office to know when someone is on the phone or not.

I hope this explains enough of what the problem is. We really need to know how to make this a more truly squared system, where users could just press the line button if it is heard ringing elsewhere or at the least, perform a call pickup. We are unable to find how the call pickup is performed on the SBX.

All lines appear on all phones, and all DSS buttons appear on all phones. The day ring is set for 2 stations mainly to answer, but if they are away from their desks, the rest of the office is used to being able to just select the specific line that is ringing and to answer the ringing call.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for all help.

Call Coverage Flexible Buttons allow you to see and hear when the call covered station is ringing. (The button lights and you hear ringing). Programming a Call Coverage Button is a two step process. First you have to create a Call Coverage Flexible Button on the station that is Covering. The Covered Station has to allow or turn on the feature.

To Program a Flexible Button on Station 100 to cover Station 107 via Phone Admin.

1. Press PGM
2. Dial 115 (Flex Button Assignments)
3. Dial 100100 (Station Range)
4. Dial 1 (to program buttons 1-24)
5. Press the Flex Button you want to program
6. Dial 06 (Button Type is PGM Code)
7. Dial 46 (PGM Code)
8. Dial Station Number of the Station to cover
9. Save

There is only one way to access and turn on the allow Call Coverage feature. It has to be done on the Covered Phone. If it is a virtual station plug in a phone and turn on the feature and remove the phone.
