Our Vodavi 4-port phone router/voicemail model 5000-00 died and we bought a used model on Ebay that appears to work. We want to re-program it with our company information. I don't have instructions for re-recording the attendant message and for programing the directory services (e.g. dial first two letters of last name to be transferred or dial three digit station number)

Could someone point me to an on-line instruction guide or give me a summary?

We have a Vodavi 5000-00 voice mail system. The models listed in the manual sites give names instead of numbers. Is there a cross-reference so we know if we have a Starfire, etc.

The Vodavi 5000-00 is the KSU. In a previous post it sounded like a digital diapatch voice mail. So you may want to look at the name and numbers of the voicemail instead of the KSU. I'm sure Ed will be along to help if I've misunderstood this.

The Triad 5000-00 is the phone system. Are you sure you have the VM with it?

I called Vodavi to ask for a user manual, but they don't offer any help to anyone who is not a dealer. I'm not sure why they make it so difficult for the owner of the equipment to install and configure.

We have a blue box with the label Vodavi Digital Voice Mail in white across the front. The back plate gives part number 3004-04, model DHD-04
description: DL/OKT/DOY/Digital. On one of the sites that sell manuals on CD, I see several Starplus models listed (there is no "starplus" printed on the Vodavi equipment), Starplus DHSe FP2-Install, DHSe FP 3 Install, DHSL Tech Manual.
Not sure which to buy.

Correction: Model number is 304-04

If you google "vodavi 304-04" you will see that it comes up with "TalkPath" & "Vodavi Dispatch". I think what you have is a 4 port digital Dispatch. The VM interfaceds with digital station ports--not analog adapters.

Also do a search in the vodavi forum using "dispatch" as a keyword.

Because these (and most telecom equipment) are not meant for the user to install. People go through a lot of training to be certified on this type of equipment. Vodavi is protecting their dealer base - the way they make money.

You will likely save a lot of time, and in the end money if you have a certified tech install this unit. What WILL take you several hours (at least) would likely take a tech much less time. Plus it is always good to have a tech/company that is familiar with your system available if you have a major failure, or want to add something to the system.
