I have a disptch VM on a Vodavi Traid phone system. If the receptionist does not answer the AA picks up after 5 rings. The AA always answers with the generic message "ofyou know your parties extension..." and not the message I have recorded for menu 100. The night mode answers correctly on menu 120. I have tried changing the timers to make sure the line CFW noanswer picks up before the extension CFW no answer does and it did not resolve this problem.

You have to disable option 1 flash 67 in voice mail features programming in the phone system itself.

I haven't ever had to change flash 67 button 1 for this type of setup. There are some things to change when you install a mini voice but not a talk path or dispatch. Do you have the lines preset forwarded to 450 or 440 ? It should be 450. Also make sure your menu 100 is playing 100.vox. Make sure your voice lines are set to time control ( it doesn't matter which one ). Make sure the proper greetings are set in the time control you are using. If it still fails, try changing the day menu to 101. Sometimes when you have a problem with a menu it's best to just try a new one.

Forwarding to 450 will work, as long as the voice mail extensions are programmed as members of that group. If you forward to 440 which gives you disconnect and other integration features then you have to disable option 1 flash 67. This allows the main greeting to play. This feature should not be disabled if using DID.

Unfortunately, I have more questions than answers here. Are we talking about an analog or digital Dispatch unit? If digital, is the Dispatch set to run on KSU clock control or on a time control? You can't use KSU clock control AND a time control. I wonder if this might be causing a conflict if that is the case.

I'm thinking that you are relying upon station preset forwarding (with only X100 being programmed to ring) to reach the VM/AA after 5 rings. With 100 being the attendant station, no VMID will be sent when the call forwards, causing the system to prompt you to enter a mailbox number.

You should check to see if 1) The Dispatch station ports are in hunt group 450, then 2) The CO line(s) are set to preset forward on page B to HG450, not 440.

One other thing to check in the time control settings (if you are actually using time controls): Action items 1-4 are easy to modify on the programming page, but people often forget that action item 5 is on the second page. Tab over there to make sure you have the correct menu programmed (default is menu 100 in day and 120 in night modes).

He is presetting the co lines to ring the operator and if not picked up rings to 440. It makes no difference if the lines are preset or the operator phone is preset. The AA will play the main greeting if flash 67 button 1 is disabled. If not it plays the enter the mailbox prompt. If the auto attendant answers and then the call is sent to the attendent which is forwarded to voice mail then the mailbox greeting is played.

Just a note..this same problem was posted back on the 18th inside another Dispatch thread.

Sorry, Derrick. I missed the mention of the CO lines having preset forwarding in the original post.

I would still use 450. 440 is looking for digits.
