I am having issues connecting to the serial ports on the bottom of our phone system. The battery is dead. The person that was employed by our company is no longer here. He documented the upload process but did not document how to connect a computer to the system. Can some please send me the hardware connections from computer to the serial ports on the bottom of the phone system I would be eternally in your debt.
Thank you for your cooperation

If the battery is dead, any programming you upload will be lost if the power is cycled. You should get the battery replaced. But to answer your question I must ask a question. Are you using Windba or hyperterminal to perform the upload ? 8/N/1 9600 baud. You can try different baud rates or check in system programming what the baud rate is set at for the port you are trying to connect to.

I got someone to come out and gave me the correct cable to connect through Hyperterminal, so we are connected. Now we have another problem. I do not know how to log out. If I end the session and go back in it does not ask for the Admin password and I am unable to log into a phone either. In hyperterminal it is at the ADM> prompt. Do you know how to exit. I looked through the documentation and it does not say anything about exiting the session. Thank you by the way for responding to my post.

I believe you type " x " to exit programming.

If x doesn't work type the letter m

Hello. I have the 5000-00 and am trying to just move a phone from one port to another. I can connect via hyperterminal. Any instruction on the programming would be greatly appreciated.
