I'm helping a church office with the additional card install on a StarPlus STS. After the first 8 lines, there is no dialtone on the next 8.

I read the manual and tried to program the boards with the xxxxxx F/24 function. I could place the proper codes on the flex button assignment but it does not seem to retain it after a power cycle. I have the moved the dipswitch from the default as I program before I program.

Is there something I'm missing here. I did F/24 after I program but it does not save.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to the board.

Your adding 8 more CO lines? If so did you add two CO line cards and what slots did you add them to? These would be LCBO packs on an STS and STSe. If there are already 8 Co's you can only get 4 more without adding an expansion cabinet, or does it already have one?

Card slot configuration can be found in the installation portion of the manual.

In your header you have DTI. DTIB are digital station packs, not CO's

If dip switch 8 is in the down position the system will default and all programming changes will be lost after a reset or power cycle. The same thing will happen if the battery switch is off or the battery is dead. Program your cards in flash 24 and then reset the system instead of powering down.

I would suggest determine what is to be added to the
KSU?

If your are wanting to increase the number of phones
you add DTIB card. If its lines you will need LCOBC card.

It is a must they are inserted in proper card slot
in the KSU.

They added more CO lines and extensions as well. So we inserted the cards on the proper slots.

DTI boards on the DTI slot and the LCBO on slot 5/6 for additional 8 lines. There are no additional expansion box. The VM card on the last slot.

@Derrick, I did what was on the manual which is to turn off the ksu and power up with dip switch 8 on. Then I perform the xxxxxx F/24 routine with the flex key equivalent of the port and entered the proper value and enter with Hold key.

Where I get lost is how to perform the 'save' or 'reset'. I couldn't get any station number showing up on the 108-115.

Should I perform the programming with dip switch on and finished it up with turning it off?

There is a reset button on the main board. Push it.and
system will reset.

Place switch "8" in proper position before you do reset our you will dump data.
Switch "8" is located on switch "3".last position.
and for normal operation is OFF.

Switch 8 should be turned down only when you first turn on the sytem out of the box, after that you leave it up all the time except if you have to completly dump the data and start over. Adding cards does not require using switch 8 at all. You add them in programming and then push the reset button on the sysem. After that your new extensions should show up and if you are adding lines you can dial 9 and the highest number new trunk will show up on the screen.
