I would agree. I really like the STSe and how the programming mirrors the XTS but the phones are pretty plain/square and if you go with the infinite phones it brings the cost way up. The SBX is pretty easy to program once you figure out the terminology and the cost of ownership as well as the look of the 24 button phones are great. It would be nice if there was a Talkpath equivalent voice mail.

"It would be nice if there was a Talkpath equivalent voice mail." No kidding. I've never worked with such a straight-forward and reliable voice mail product in my life. Of course, the hard drive and BIOS issue rubbed me the wrong way, but hey....

The SBX has real potential. They just need to revamp the programming interface. Every one I've installed has confused the $*!# out of me, multiple calls to tech support to get basic stuff working...

SBX hands down over the STSe. I have installed over 500 STSe systems, but the SBX with the admin tool is great. Back up your data bases and instant changes with the 10/100. Hyper terminal on VM forget it, I have moved forward. STSe is 6 years old and in its day was nice but this is the new system and everyone that is fighting it is losing out. With 3.0 just around the corner on SBX, why would anyone sell STSe at that point??

Because the STSe is rock solid and it works? Three KSU failures in six years. That is my reason.
Not to mention, 17 years of the same feature code/numbering plan set, identical programming interaction and end user operation. Sounds like a no-brainer to me.

why would anyone sell STSe at that point?? PRI and good voicemail for two reasons. SBX will eventually have a PRI that works but I seriously doubt it will ever have a voicemail to compare to the InSkin Pathfinder. It doesn't really make any difference, our masters are going to force us to sell it or go to another alternative.

What everyone needs to look at is the big picture here. I have installed a lot of STSe also and loved them. made a ton of money on them, but when the expansion is here and the T1/PRI is here do you really think they are going to keep both of these systems out? Short term probably yes, but long term it does not make sense to have both these out, the same size and IP and the nod goes to SBX. All I am saying here is get familar with it becasue that is going to be the station of the future.

Vodavi often had a few systems that they offered at the same time. I always thought that method allowed them to be their own competition. If Vertical decides to put all their eggs into one or two baskets, how long will they be around?
