Hi all, new to this forum and fairly new to business telephone systems. I am helping a small nonprofit, which is rather cash strapped, move into a new office. We have inherited a Starplus DHS SP7000-00, with about a dozen Starplus digital system SP7314-71 phones. The system was working perfectly when removed about a year ago. The new office will have two or three voice lines, and about eight extension phones.
I have two groups of questions. First, is the processor unit sufficiently state of the art to use, or should we be looking for a more modern processor compatible with these phones? If so, which specific processor should we be looking at?
Secondly, the system was used with Telephone Company lines. The new office is interested in using cable modem lines, via Atlantic Broadband. Any idea how this system, or the system with a new processing unit, would work with such an arrangement?
Thanks and God bless. Gene

The DHS is a discontinued product so I wouldn't concern myself looking for an updated processor. Any phone lines, as long as they are analog at the demark, should work.
